Winery News

It was good to see all of you this summer. We had a fun season filled with new and familiar faces. Harvest was a blast. Thanks to everyone who pitched in. The grapes have long since been crushed with all but a few reds left for pressing.

The tasting room at Eagle Creek is closed for winter. It will re-open May 1, 2008. In the meantime, Eagle Creek Winery will open a new tasting room at 617 Front Street in the Bavarian village of Leavenworth. We're keeping our fingers crossed for an opening by the first of the Christmas Lighting Festivals. If you are in town stop by, say hello and put your club discount to good use. Why not take advantage of your VIP tasting for you and a friend? Please call ahead or e-mail us to make arrangements. This is our first wine club shipment. Let us know how it worked for you. We appreciate any input.

Thank you for your support,

Ed & Nat

Our Wines

2004 Montage
A rich blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It is fragrant and spicy with aromas of raspberry, ripe plum and wild berries. The smoky oak and peppercorn flavors give this blend a well-balanced and lasting finish. This wine pairs well with most Italian cuisine, particularly dishes where marinara is present. Also complements sausages, veal and chicken. Try this wine with Nat's Meatballs Speziato (see recipe). Drink now through 2010.

2005 Pinot Grigio
A zesty wine with lime tinged flavors of apricot and red grapefruit. The tangy acidity keeps it balanced and structured with mineral notes and a peppery finish. Here's a wine for the Thanksgiving table. This wine pairs well with turkey, salmon or most fish dishes where the fish is the primary flavor. We also found this to be one of the only wines that pairs successfully with cilantro strong salsa. Drink now through 2008. Serve chilled.

2006 Raspberry Riesling
Our most popular wine has been blended with raspberry wine made with fruit from the Eagle Creek raspberry patch. This sweet dessert wine is currently only available to wine club members. We have released it a tad young to get it to you in our inaugural shipment. Hold for 1 to 3 months. Perfect for Christmas day. Let Raspberry Riesling become a Christmas tradition in your home. Serve chilled.

2005 Chardonnay
Smooth and harmonious. Focused and dry with pear and fresh citrus scents, finished with a dash of toasty oak. We recently paired this wine perfectly with a plantain crusted chicken dish. Also good with most seafood dishes, especially ones with rich sauces, spices and strong herb flavors. Drink now through 2011. Serve moderately chilled.

2004 Merlot
A delicate, well-proportioned style, highlighted by cedar and berry notes of moderate richness and concentration, and a lingering finish. This wine pairs naturally with red meats. It runs the gamut from rich chicken dishes, pork chops, short ribs all the way to filet mignon. Drink now through 2013.

2005 Syrah
Savory pomegranate and wild berry flavors dominate this spicy red. Lots of smoke and mineral notes too. Pair with asparagus, blue cheese, dry aged cheeses and of course, lamb. Drink now through 2012.

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
A distinctive richness that combines elegance and finesse, the ripe cherry and blackberry flavors are offset by a pleasant earthiness and finishing with smooth, fine-grained tannins. Try pairing with sirloin steak, garlic roasted chicken, or for something lighter serve with pasta and basil pesto. Drink now through 2012.
